La muerte del padre
This volume is an essay on disappearance. La muerte del padre [The Death of the Father], written in the form of a diary over six months in 2006, and using more than half a dozen languages (Valencian, Eastern Catalan, Spanish, Aragonese, Asturian, and Portuguese), it is conceived almost as an artistic action, as I wrote it in the most varied places and at all possible hours. It was so exhausting that it was, in perspective, the endpoint of my work. I don’t want to say that I haven’t done anything after this book, but I do see everything very far from that tension and dedication, as if it were redundant. With La muerte del padre, I had no choice but to capture life through literature, or, in other words, to turn life into literature so that the horror would be mitigated by its entry into fiction. However, this is not a book of fiction, but the description of what the title itself denotes, allowing to emerge, despite the pain, the sparkle of the passing minute.
