Requerimiento
Performed at the initial cross of the Camino de Santiago, in Roncesvalles (Navarra). On the last day of 2002, I visited the Akelarre meadow and the witches’ cave of Zugarramurdi, where I took a stone that I kept attached to my body throughout the day. At night, I carried out a small rite at the pilgrim’s cross: I hit the ground creating a lau-buru and asking the Basque gods to emerge from the darkness. In the end, I introduced the stone inside the cross. The photographs are mine and Rosa María Rodríguez Magda’s.
